Once again, the Internet Economy Summit (IES) was hosted in Hong Kong from April, the 15th to 16th, 2019.

IES brings together local and global technology experts to discuss how companies can leverage data-driven innovation to take advantage of unprecedented opportunities in the networked world. To this event, Dr. Benny Drescher and Patrick Kabasci, both from INC Invention Center, were able to share our point of view on current topics of high relevance to companies.

Patrick has been taking a look at the business side of Industrie 4.0. He stated that the internet economy is not just for internet companies anymore. In his talk, he outlined how companies can evaluate whether they have a potential USP in offering digital services alongside their products and moving to be solution providers.

Benny has been detailing the technical side of Industrie 4.0. His talk focussed on the implementation of Industrie 4.0 in SMEs. He outlined that data analytics are now useful not only for huge companies but for any company interested in improving their operations. In a panel discussion with representatives from KaShui and Trio, Benny, along with representatives from the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), showcased how working together to introduce Industrie 4.0 has helped create successful value for their company.
